About Rye Escapes and coastal living?  Well this all began when we had baby number one and decided to leave the heart of Portobello Road (were we mad?), keen to live in the country we set about trying to figure out where – at the same time Richard’s parents decided to sell their holiday house (they had six kids) and having bought Camber Farmhouse in 1952, it was inevitable that the conversation would come up, the rest they say is history – and Camber has been a very special place to raise a family and develop our business. We renovated our Barn at the Farmhouse, which we started renting out in 2001 and we went from there – collecting our portfolio of properties organically – managing them for owners, only if we liked them! Being able to walk onto the stunning beach, explore the historic towns and villages and then be so close to London has made Camber a dream location for us!
